Jeff R. Hawkins receives presidential citation at ISBA awards luncheon


INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 30, 2017) – Jeff R. Hawkins, Sullivan, was recognized for spearheading the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) beta testing process for both its new e-discussion list platform and its “You Need a Lawyer: ISBA Directory,” a find-a-lawyer online directory for the public. Hawkins received a presidential citation from ISBA President Mitchell R. Heppenheimer at its annual awards luncheon in Indianapolis on Aug. 30.


Hawkins practices law with his wife, Jennifer, at Hawkins Law PC in Sullivan, Ind. They both concentrate in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, and elder law. Hawkins also practices in the areas of business law and civil mediation. He received his B.S. from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Louisville’s Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1992. He was admitted to practice in Indiana in 1992 and in Illinois in 2012. He became a registered civil mediator in Indiana in 2013.


Hawkins is a member of the Sullivan County, Terre Haute, Indiana State (past president; member, Probate Trust & Real Property, Elder Law, Business Law, Agricultural Law, GP, Solo & Small Firm and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections), and Illinois State (member, Business Advice & Financial Planning, Elder Law, Real Estate Law, Trusts & Estates, and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections) bar associations. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, and a member of the Indiana and Illinois chapters of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Indiana Association of Mediators.
