Andrew M. Hicks receives presidential citation at ISBA awards luncheon


INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 30, 2017) – Andrew M. Hicks, Elkhart, was recognized for his exceptional contributions to Indiana Kids’ Election, a mock election program for grades K-12 sponsored by the Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana Department of Education and the Office of the Indiana Secretary of State. Hicks received a presidential citation from ISBA President Mitchell R. Heppenheimer at its annual awards luncheon in Indianapolis on Aug. 30.


Hicks is a partner at Warrick & Boyn, LLP, a full-service corporate law firm located in Elkhart, Ind.

When he is not in the classroom teaching students about the importance of voting and community engagement, Hicks represents a wide range of people, including small and large businesses, restaurants and schools. His practice is primarily focused on corporate law and litigation, including assisting clients with regard to employees, real estate, contracts and administrative law. Hicks also has significant experience handling school and alcohol licensing issues for clients.


Hicks has practiced law in Elkhart since he was licensed in 2002. He has been licensed to practice law in Michigan since 2008. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association House of Delegates, representing Elkhart County, and served as secretary of the Elkhart City Bar Association. Andrew has served on numerous boards, including Loveway, Church Community Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County and Concord Dollars for Scholars. He served on the Steering Committee for the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Academy for 10 years. He is a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. Andrew was a member of the 2014 Class of Michiana’s “Forty under 40.” 


He received his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2002, where he was awarded The Barrett Award for Trial Advocacy and was a member of Notre Dame’s National Moot Court Trial Team. In 1998, he graduated magna cum laude from Saint Joseph’s College, with a B.S. group major in mathematics-physics and a minor in business management. He is active in his church, St. Thomas the Apostle. Hicks is married to his wife, Sara, and they have four daughters.
