ISBA Courthouse Art Project on display at Conner Prairie as part of yearlong exhibit
Endorsed as an official Bicentennial Legacy Project!
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 19, 2016) – The Indiana State Bar Association’s (ISBA) Courthouse Art Project will be on display as part of a yearlong art exhibit at Conner Prairie, the interactive history park in Fishers, Ind. Established in 2007, the Courthouse Art Project is an initiative to collect original artwork of courthouses in all of Indiana’s 92 counties. The ISBA has secured 40 paintings so far, which will all appear in a phased approach at Conner Prairie in 2016. The Indiana Bicentennial Commission has endorsed the Courthouse Art Project as an official Bicentennial Legacy Project.
“We still have work to do in order to have all 92 counties represented with a work of original art,” said Douglas D. Church of Noblesville, past president of the ISBA and chair of the Courthouse Art Project Committee. “It is our hope that having public displays such as this will inspire those counties that have yet to contribute to the collection to get serious about it and find ways and means to donate a painting.”
