Resources for Courts Preparing for Jury Trial

ISBA provides the following resources for Indiana courts preparing for jury trials. ISBA members, court staff and administrators, and judges can access model jury instructions, juror certificates, and juror handbooks.

If you have any questions about the below resources, contact Abigail Hopf at ahopf@inbar.org.

Jury Instructions

The Indiana Judges Association (IJA) prepares model jury instructions for both criminal and civil cases. Through their generosity, IJA has provided free digital access to these instructions to ISBA members.

Juror's Handbooks

ISBA publishes a juror's handbook designed to help Indiana jurors understand the legal process and the importance of their role. This 28-page booklet provides background information on Indiana's legal system, an overview of trial procedure, a breakdown of court rules and expectations, and plain language definitions of relevant legal terms.

The digital version of this handbook is available free for download. Download the juror's handbook »
