Local attorney donates original painting of Union County Courthouse as tribute to late grandfather

INDIANAPOLIS (March 1, 2016) - Howard "Tad" L. Huntington, a partner at the Highland firm Bullaro & Carton, presented his original painting of the Union County Courthouse to the Indiana State Bar Association's (ISBA) Courthouse Art Project on Thursday as a tribute to his late grandfather, Marion James Huntington, who previously practiced law in Union County and inspired him to become a lawyer. His grandfather's former law office is situated across the street from the courthouse and is still owned by the family.

Established in 2007, the Courthouse Art Project is an initiative to collect original artwork of courthouses in all of Indiana's 92 counties. The ISBA has now secured 41 paintings so far, which will be on display as part of a yearlong art exhibit at Conner Prairie, the interactive history park in Fishers. The Indiana Bicentennial Commission has endorsed the Courthouse Art Project as an official Bicentennial Legacy Project.

Huntington focuses his practice on insurance defense, commercial, business, construction, product liability, professional liability, civil rights and transportation litigation. He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995 and his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998. He is a member of the Illinois State and Indiana State bar associations, Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, and the National Eagle Scout Association.

The ISBA looks forward to receiving original artwork from the remaining 51 counties. For more information about this initiative, please contact Doug Church at Click here for photos of each piece of artwork. Also, click here to view the official brochure.
