As the year comes to a close, many of us take stock in our personal and professional lives. This year for the first time, Supreme Court Rule 6.7 asks us to take note of our annual pro bono services and donations.

We know that Rule 6.7 measures only a fraction of the generous acts you do in your community. As leaders in our statewide professional association and philanthropic organization, we want to support you with your pro bono reporting questions.

Next fall, when you renew your attorney registration, you will be asked to report on a subset of your pro bono services and donations from calendar year 2015.

The Indiana State Bar Association, through its Pro Bono Committee, and the Indiana Bar Foundation are here to help you navigate frequently asked questions about pro bono reporting; refer you to volunteer opportunities both in person and through our state’s virtual law clinic at; and help you track pro bono hours through the local pro bono districts ( Donations made in 2015 to your local pro bono districts, the Foundation and other civil legal aid providers can also be reported on your 2016 attorney registration.

Please let us know how we can help make this transition to pro bono reporting an easy one.
