David E. Jose receives ISBA Community Service Award


INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 30, 2015) – David E. Jose’s exceptional non-legal work in the community was recognized at the Indiana State Bar Association’s (ISBA) annual meeting in French Lick earlier this month, where he received the Community Service Award.


Jose is a partner at the Indianapolis firm Plews Shadley Racher & Braun, where he focuses his practice on healthcare, corporate, administrative and regulatory law. He regularly handles matters for hospitals, mental health centers, long term care facilities and physicians. Jose helps these clients with a variety of matters including regulatory compliance and administrative appeals, internal investigation, contract review and negotiation, reimbursement matters, business transactions, and general commercial and corporate matters.


Jose is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State bar associations, as well as the American Health Lawyers Association. He is active with multiple civic and charitable organizations, including serving on the board of directors of the Indiana Recycling Coalition, Phoenix Theatre and Tangram. He serves as legal counsel to the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library. Additionally, Jose is a member of the Indianapolis Advisory Board for Back on My Feet and serves as the team leader of the Wheeler Mission Team.


Jose received his undergraduate degree from Earlham College in 1975 and his M.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1976. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1981.
