Rebecca L. Vail receives ISBA Henry Hurst Judicial Assistance Award


INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 29, 2015) – Rebecca L. Vail’s dedication to the federal judiciary and the public was recognized at the Indiana State Bar Association’s (ISBA) annual meeting in French Lick, where she received the Henry Hurst Judicial Assistance Award earlier this month.


Vail is the chief deputy clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana, where she has served since 2007. She has dedicated her professional career to supporting the federal judiciary, first joining the court family in 1992. In 1998, she worked in the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, where she broadened her skills and enlarged her focus to assist courts on a national level. In 2001, she became the chief deputy clerk in the Middle District of Florida, serving with distinction until relocating to Indianapolis to be closer to family.
