Judge Heather M. Mollo receives Hon. Viola J. Taliaferro Award


INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 26, 2015) – Hon. Heather M. Mollo’s concern and commitment to ensure the community and courts work together for the best outcomes of at-risk families and children were recognized at the Indiana State Bar Association’s (ISBA) annual meeting in French Lick earlier this month, where she received the Hon. Viola J. Taliaferro Award.


Judge Mollo has worked in the juvenile court of Bartholomew County since 2000, first as a juvenile referee and now as a juvenile magistrate. She received her undergraduate degree from Franklin College in 1977 and her J.D. from the I.U. Maurer School of Law in 1983. 


Locally, Judge Mollo is a member of the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative (current chair), the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center (member, advisory board), the District Eleven Legal Aid (board member) and the Regional Services Council for Region 14 (member). She is also active on several state judicial committees, including the Child Welfare Improvement Committee (current chair), Indiana State CASA (member, advisory board) and the Juvenile Benchbook Committee (member).
