Ethics About the event In this CLE, we will discuss how to choose the most appropriate method of dispute resolution among Collaborative Law, Mediation, Binding Arbitration, Non-Binding Arbitration, and Special Masters. Additionally, we will address how to effectively handle procedural and ethical quandaries in both civil and domestic relations mediation to ensure a fair and just process. Furthermore, we will cover how to find and select qualified Arbitrators, Mediators, and Special Masters by carefully evaluating their credentials and expertise. 9:45 a.m. – Domestic Relations Topics in Mediation – Rebecca Billick The topics discussed during this presentation will be arbitration versus mediation in domestic relations cases, mediator participation in pre-trial conferences, status hearings, mediator testimony, input from other speakers, and collaborative practice.
10:30 a.m.– Ethics in ADR– Bob Dignam The topics discussed during this presentation will be arbitration, binding, non-binding, mediation, candor toward the mediator/arbitrator, and candor toward the tribunal duration of mediation.
11:15 a.m. – The Role of Special Master – Bob Eherenman The topics discussed during this presentation will be, discussion of commercial court, T.R. 53, how the February 2022 Civil Litigation Committee recommended an increase in this role, what this role is, and how it can be expanded.
12:00 p.m. – ADR Section Annual Business Meeting Please join us in attending this business meeting at the conclusion of the CLE. This is not required for CLE credit.
