Established through the Indiana Bar Foundation and children of Joseph T. Helling, the Joseph T. Helling Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to provide scholarships to young attorneys in Indiana attending the Indiana State Bar Association's Annual Meeting. Mr. Helling was a proponent of professional development and believed strongly in the collegial relationships formed at Bar events. 

The scholarship is designed to cover the expenses of sending a lawyer and their family to the 2025 ISBA Annual Meeting, including registration fees, lodging, meals, and travel expenses. 

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be:

• Actively practicing law in Indiana.
• Admitted to the practice of law less than five years.
• A member of the Indiana State Bar Association.
  

Applications will be accepted through August 31, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Indiana Bar Foundation the week of September 22, 2025. Multiple scholarship recipients may be selected.
