Professional enjoyment: My greatest satisfaction comes from the face-to-case contact with my clients. Oftentimes, the discussions are analytical: where is the client now as regards to his/her estate and how do they envision the future. There is a lot of “crystal ball” work. Hopefully, I can provide some thoughts the client needs to consider in planning for the future.

Your inspiration: My entrance into the profession came as a third career, following five years in banking and 10 years in manufacturing. In those prior “lives,” I had reason to study the law. Each time my work led me down this path, I was drawn to the legal logic and the word craft. When the opportunity arose for me to enter law school, I gladly stepped up.

Fav hobbies: As you might expect from a person in South Bend, my wife and I attend Notre Dame football, basketball and soccer games. We also attend 12-15 plays a year, either at Notre Dame or our local civic theatre. We have traveled extensively, though we look forward to more. I love music – very wide spectrum of genres; and I do like a good movie. Here, my taste ranges from W.C. Fields and Harold Lloyd to the present without a break. There's almost always a book or two going on my night stand - lots of Mitchner and Booth Tarkington.
