ISBA Annual Day of Service Sept. 16
The State Bar's Service Committee will sponsor its fourth “Annual Day of Service” on Saturday, Sept. 16, where attorneys and judges from across the state will come together in their local counties to engage in hands-on community service. From cleaning up neighborhoods to harvesting fresh produce for local food shelters, volunteers will have the chance to be a part of this growing movement in the Indiana legal community. To participate, simply contact the project leader.

Project Leader:  Terry Tolliver,

Volunteers will have a choice between outdoor and indoor opportunities.  Those that are working outdoors may be asked to help tend the floral garden, remove any debris from the playground, or perform other cleanup.  Indoors, volunteers may find themselves sorting food for the food pantry, putting together food bags for needy family, or helping organize clothing. Children are welcome, so families will have an opportunity to serve together.

Project Leader:  Joe Langerak,

Volunteers will scrape and paint parts of the Arc headquarters on Virginia Street. Project leader Joe Langerak says, "The Arc of Evansville advocates for those who often cannot advocate for themselves. In addition, it helps those with disabilities achieve their full potential. The Arc also helps those with disabilities find meaningful employment. These folks are often a forgotten or ignored cross section of the community, especially those with severe disabilities."
