7th Annual Indiana Attorney General Rx & Heroin Abuse Prevention Symposium

Rebuilding the Hoosier Heartland

October 13 – 14, 2016 @ the Indiana Convention Center

Please join us at this year’s 7th Annual Prescription Drug Abuse & Heroin Prevention Symposium to address what has been coined by medical experts as one of “the biggest mistakes of modern medicine.” Opiate addiction is a growing threat to public health and safety throughout the United States and accounts for the number one cause of injury death. Indiana has been struck hard losing more people to drug overdose than motor vehicle accidents while experiencing an unprecedented HIV outbreak caused by opioid abuse. In order to comprehensively combat the opiate epidemic facing our nation, we must continue collaborating and sharing effective strategies to help rebuild our Hoosier state. This year’s program will offer 28 breakout sessions and 5 general sessions over the course of two days with an opportunity to earn 12 total credit hours (pending).

This year’s keynote will be the author of the book, Dreamland. Sam Quinones is a journalist, storyteller, former LA Times reporter, and author of three acclaimed books of narrative nonfiction. The book Dreamland was selected as’s Best Book of the Year 2015 and the National Book Critics Circle award.
Attendees will also hear from Victor Antonio Carrancá Bourget, Attorney General of the State of Puebla, Mexico on international efforts to reduce the heroin supply.

Cost: $50 for 2 day program (breakfast included both days and lunch on second day)
