About the event

Interested in the benefits of mindfulness but think you don’t have time or you can’t sit still long enough? Think yoga sounds great but you just aren’t bendy enough? Maybe it all sounds like a bunch of hippy-dippy pseudoscience that has no relation to the practice of law. If you’ve ever thought any of the above or if you’re just curious what mindfulness practice is all about, join JLAP Deputy Director Loretta Oleksy and JLAP volunteer Jill Carnell for a discussion of the benefits of mindfulness for your personal and professional life. Participants will come away with a better understanding of the broad range of mindfulness practices and how benefits such as improved concentration working memory, and communication can enhance your competence as a lawyer as well as your general physical and mental health. In addition, you will have the opportunity to sample a brief guided meditation and a chair yoga practice.
