Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Perspective Jennifer Goldstein
Jennifer Goldstein will discuss Top Ten Litigation Developments. This includes recent EEOC activity to combat discriminatory hiring practices, restrictive releases, as well as pregnancy and religious discrimination.
National Labor Relations Board Perspective Richard F. Griffin, Jr.
General Counsel Griffin will address current NLRB developments including joint employer/franchisee issues, various handbook policies and their impact on protected employee (Sec. 7) rights, social media as it relates to employee discipline and statements, and the initiative to review Register Guard and employee use of employer's electronic communication systems. The GC will also address the Northwestern football players decision, the Board's assertion of jurisdiction over the medical marijuana industry and where things stand after the Supreme Court's decision in Noel Canning.
