Employment opportunity: Evansville Bar Association Executive Director

The Evansville Bar Association (EBA), an active, voluntary association of 562 members, is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as its executive director. Offices are headquartered in Evansville, Ind.

Founded in 1911, the EBA operates 10 practice committees and sections, and 10 service committees, as well as several programs, including continuing legal education, lawyer referral placement, public service, and member recruitment and services. The EBA is affiliated with the Evansville Bar Foundation.

The executive director of the EBA is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the EBA Board of Directors. Primary responsibilities include the following:

MANAGING the daily operations of the bar and foundation;

SUPERVISING support staff members and consultants;

ADMINISTERING a $250,000+ annual budget;

PLANNING and operating current bar programs;

SUPPORTING bar committees, sections and special task forces; and

DEVELOPING new member services, programs, and fundraising initiatives.

• Experience in organizational budgeting, program planning, and staff management and oversight.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with office technology, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Publisher.  
• Proficiency with various social media platforms and Constant Contact a plus.
• Experience in the legal field or non-profit organizations preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
