Shontrai D. Irving elected to Indiana State Bar Association board of governors

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 21, 2015) – Shontrai D. Irving, Gary, was elected to the board of governors of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) at its annual meeting in French Lick earlier this month. He will serve a two-year term.
Irving is an assistant clinical professor at the College of Business - Purdue University Calumet. Previously, he served as an attorney for State Farm Insurance Litigation from 2005-14. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1997 and his J.D. from the I.U. Maurer School of Law in 2003, while also pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from Purdue University Calumet's Executive Program.
Irving currently serves as a commissioner for the Commission for Continuing Legal Education, appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court. He is an active member of the James C. Kimbrough (past president), Lake County, Indiana State (recipient, Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, 2010; recipient, Hon. Viola J. Taliaferro Award, 2008; recipient, Community Service Award, 2013) and American bar associations. He is also a member of numerous community organizations and has served as a foster parent since 2006.
