This ISBA Section web page is designed to provide members
of the Utility Law Section a reference for
section activities and to encourage other members of the ISBA
to join the section.
Membership
· Section Annual Dues, $20.00, July 1-June 30
· Any member in good standing of the ISBA is eligible for
membership in the Utility Law Section.
· If you wish to join the Utility Law Section, send $20.00
to the ISBA along with your annual dues or separately to ISBA

Divisions
Section
Information
The Section coordinates two (2) seminars each year for Utility
Law Section members. Speakers present for CLE credit.
The Section also hosts a holiday party every
year.
Section
Purpose
The purpose of the Section shall be to bring together for
furtherance of their mutual interests members of the Association
interested in legal issues, rights and responsibilities relating
to public utilities, and in this regard:
(1) To provide a forum for mutual help in the practice of
law in such areas of interest and to discuss and formulate
solutions to problems occurring in such practice;
(2) To uphold the dignity and standing of lawyers and the
honor and reputation of the members of this Association engaging
in these practices;
(3) To promote the administration of justice by simplifying
and expediting related forms and procedures;
(4) To aid and encourage the holding of seminars, institutes,
and legal panels connected with the Section's objectives;
(5) To encourage cordiality among the members;
(6) To protect the rights and interest of the members;
(7) To promote the members' general welfare; and,
(8) To assemble and disseminate information for the better
understanding of the public in matters relating to the legal
areas of interest to the Section.

Bylaws
Officers and Council
The Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary/Treasurer hold their
positions for one-year terms commencing at the Annual Meeting
held during the ISBA Annual Meeting in the fall.
The Council consists of the Officers of the
Section, the immediate Past Chair of the Section and the Chair
of each of the Divisions of the Section.
Past Chairs of the Section who are not otherwise
members of the Council shall become honorary members of the
Council.
Each Division shall have a Chair, Chair-Elect
and Secretary/Treasurer which will serve one-year terms.
