The Chair, Chair-Elect, and Secretary/Treasurer hold their
positions for one-year terms commencing at the Annual Meeting
held during the ISBA Annual Meeting in the fall.
The Council
consists of the immediate past Chair of the Section, the officers
of the Section and sixteen (16) Council representatives appointed
by the Chairman.
The Council
representatives consist of:
-one representative
for each of the four ABA accredited law schools in the State
of Indiana;
-four (4)
district representatives (one each from the North, South,
Central and Indianapolis Metropolitan area);
-two (2)
representatives from the bench or judiciary;
-one (1)
representative from each of the Commission for Continuing
Legal Education, the Board of Law Examiners, and the Disciplinary
Commission;
-one (1)
member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Association; and,
-two (2)
at-large members.
Initially,
the young lawyer representative shall serve for an initial
three-year term, and all other categories of representatives
shall be equally split with one-half serving for an initial
two-year term and other half serving for an initial three-year
term.
Thereafter,
each term of office upon the Council shall be for a period
