(a) To promote the Patent System of the United States; (b) To maintain a high standard of professional ethics; (c) To consider and take action in the name of the Section on Patent, Trademark, Copyright, and related matters; (d) To provide an instrumentality for ascertaining and disseminating the views of the majority of its members; (e) To promote opportunities for the mutual enlightenment of its members and friends concerning new or proposed developments in Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law and practice, and (f) To encourage pleasant social relationships among its members and friends. and Council
The Chair, Chair-Elect, Vice Chair and Secretary and Treasurer hold their positions for one-year terms commencing at the Annual Meeting held during the ISBA Annual Meeting in the fall. The Council consists of the officers of the Section, the immediate Past Chair of the Section, and one or two additional active members as are nominated by the Chair and elected by the active members to serve during the term of the nominating Chair.
