This ISBA Section web page is designed to provide members of the Family & Juvenile Law Section a reference for section activities and to encourage other members of the ISBA to join the section.

  • Section Annual Dues, $15.00, July 1-June 30.

Family Matters Newsletter
The newsletter of the Family & Juvenile Law Section, Family Matters, is currently being published two times per year. The editor, Suzanne Hampton Wagner, shamptonwagner@hallercolvin.com, welcomes members to contribute articles and information. Section members receive the mailings of the newsletter as a member benefit.


Public Service Information
The Family & Juvenile Law Section provides to the public at no charge the brochure "Indiana Family Law" which is published in conjunction with the ISBA Young Lawyers Section. The brochure is available through the ISBA office at isbaadmin@inbar.org or by calling 317-639-5465.

Section Purpose
The purpose of this Section shall be:


(1) to unite in a single Section of the Indiana State Bar Association those lawyers, judges and paralegals, who are interested in and concerned with improving the administration of justice in the field of family and juvenile law in the State of Indiana ;

(2) to promote high standards of professional conduct for lawyers and judges who function in the administration of justice in the field of family and juvenile law;

(3) to cooperate with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and other such groups in formulating programs of continuing legal education in the field of family and juvenile law;

(4) to cooperate with other professional groups concerned with the family;

(5) to recommend and support adoption of any needed changes or revisions in the law relating to the family.

Section Bylaws


Officers and Council
The Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer hold their positions for two-year terms commencing at the Annual Meeting held during the ISBA Annual Meeting in the fall.


The Council consists of the Section's Officers and two (2) members of the Section from each of the geographical districts of the Indiana Court of Appeals. They serve two-year terms.
