Supreme Court considering system of annual reporting of pro bono legal services

At the direction of the Indiana Supreme Court, the Indiana Pro Bono Commission formed an ad hoc Pro Bono Reporting Task Force (Task Force) to develop, for the Court's consideration, a comprehensive proposal for implementing a system of annual reporting of pro bono legal services by Indiana lawyers. The Supreme Court has received a report containing the proposal from the Task Force, a copy of which is available by clicking here.

The Indiana State Bar Association is seeking comments from its members on the Task Force's recommendations. Comments are due no later than Friday, Aug. 8.

Note from the Court: The recommendations contained in the enclosed report have not been adopted by the Supreme Court. The Court received the enclosed report from the Task Force on June 23, and the justices of the Court are reviewing it, but the Court has not yet discussed any of its contents. The Court does not express any opinion on the Task Force's recommendations at this time.
