Program Description:
Do you ever wonder what motivates a trademark examining attorney or a patent examiner to allow or not allow your application? Their reasons might surprise you! This CLE program will describe in depth the “count system” which measures the daily, weekly, monthly, and even yearly constraints and expectations that trademark examining attorneys and patent examiners must meet in order to succeed at the USPTO.  You will be surprised how the count system affects examination and strongly impacts how applications are evaluated and processed at the USPTO. In addition, the program will discuss ethical considerations when communicating and dealing with examiners and examining attorneys.
