Family & Juvenile Law

The Family & Juvenile Law Section spends a great deal of time reviewing, proposing and drafting legislation related to family and juvenile law, and looks for ways to ensure speedy and just resolution of family dispute. It promotes high standards of professional conduct for lawyers and judges in the field of family and juvenile law. It also contributes a regular column to the ISBA’s magazine and publishes a variety of handbooks.

The Family Law certification test will be on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8:00 a.m. at the Indiana State Bar Association (One Indiana Square, Suite 530, Indianapolis, IN 46204).

Gale M. Phelps Award

 

 

 

The Gale M. Phelps award is named in honor of Gale M. Phelps, a former chair of the Family and Juvenile Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and one of the most active members of the Section. She was instrumental in creating the Family Law Specialist Certification status in Indiana. The Section decided to recognize Gale’s contributions in an on-going manner by annually honoring an attorney who had worked to elevate the standards of professionalism in the area of family law.
