The purpose of the Pro Bono Committee is to fulfill the Indiana State Bar Association's commitment to pro bono efforts as an integral part of its mission and long-range planning. As such, the Pro Bono Committee shall develop and implement programs to educate the members of this Association about the need for and opportunities to engage in pro bono civil legal services for the poor, to encourage members to undertake pro bono representation of clients, and to recognize and honor Association members who exhibit outstanding commitment to pro bono representation of clients or the enhancement of pro bono activities within the State of Indiana. The committee shall also develop the means of coordinating such Association programs with other organized pro bono efforts as well as with other committees and practice sections of this Association. The committee shall periodically report its recommendations to the Board of Governors.
