The Indiana State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section (YLS) has donated $12,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant the wishes of Tyler and Eliza, two central Indiana children with life-threatening illnesses. On June 17, the Young Lawyers Section held a benefit concert featuring Zanna-Doo and Jester Kings at the Rathskeller Biergarten in Indianapolis.
“It’s opportunities like this that are available through the bar association that make ‘giving back’ an easy task,” YLS Chair Jason A. Cichowicz, South Bend, said. “I can’t think of a better way to serve the community, and it’s a great feeling to know we are helping to provide a bright spot for these children who are going through so much.”
Tyler, 15, Greenwood, is battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and his wish is to travel with family to King’s Island. Eliza, 17, Indianapolis, was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor, and her wish is to travel internationally.
“We are so grateful for the support of the Young Lawyers Section of the Indiana State Bar Association,” commented Make-A-Wish Development Associate Amanda Orabutt. “The money raised from the YLS Wishfest fundraiser will bring smiles to Tyler and Eliza by making their heartfelt wishes come true.”
