CLE REGISTRATION FORM & AGENDA

On Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, the Indiana State Bar Association will conduct its annual “Talk to a Lawyer Today” program. In memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., approximately 200 members of the ISBA will offer brief, free legal consultations to members of the public on Dr. King's celebrated birthday.

In conjunction with this annual program, there will be a low-cost 6-hour CLE (including 1 hour of ethics) training seminar in Indianapolis at Barnes & Thornburg on Oct. 8 titled "Amazingly Interesting CLE for Attorneys with a Heart." Lawyers who attend this seminar at a cost of $25 also commit to a 2 hour shift on Jan. 21 to staff the statewide toll-free call-in site at the State Bar's headquarters in downtown Indianapolis. (For $225, there is no obligation to take a “Talk to a Lawyer Today” shift.)

The seminar this year will include all new topics to assist volunteer attorneys in answering the types of questions posed by the general public, such as Indiana's new emancipation statute, Social Security disability law, divorce basics, guardianship and third-party custody, new laws on sealing criminal records and ways to avoid the Disciplinary Commission.

The Oct. 8 seminar will be videotaped and replayed at various sites throughout the state in the coming months. Information about the video replay locations and how to register will be included in upcoming State Bar media.

To register for the live seminar, download the above registration form or contact Sherry Allan at the State Bar, 800/266-2581 or sallan@inbar.org. You will be glad you did!
