Seminars on new Civil Jury Instructions

In the fall of 2010, a completely new edition of the Indiana Civil Jury Instructions will be published...in plain English! Want to learn more about the new instructions Indiana judges will be using? The Indiana Judges Association will hold seminars around the state in October 2010. The seminars will focus on why plain English is important, the process used to draft the model instructions, and how the new models are part of the overall jury reform in Indiana.

Attendees will have the opportunity to examine some of the new instructions and talk with members of the committee who wrote the instructions. The new instructions and comments that accompany them provide an up-to-date summary of Indiana law on at least sixteen different subject matters (to include car accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, defamation and more).

Online registration will begin on Monday, Aug. 16, at https://ijc.wufoo.com/forms/say-what-seminars-2010/. Attendees can earn 3 CLE hours (including 1 hour Ethics). The cost is $145.
